We are delighted to introduce Dr. Romano, a first-class veterinary orthopaedic surgeon and neurologist who joins our team from San Paulo, Brazil. He comes on board with over 20 years of expertise in diagnosing and treating fractures, articular diseases (joint diseases), limb deformities, and executing functional amputations in instances of life-threatening diseases. He also specialises in clinical neurology and is a trusted physician in treating neuro-spinal disc diseases and surgical treatment of spinal disorders in small animals.
Dr. Romano holds a Master of Science in Small Animal Surgery with an emphasis in Orthopaedics and a Postgraduate degree in Veterinary Neurology. In addition to his decades of devotion to surgical practice, Dr. Romano is a respected faculty and research authority on veterinary skeletal anatomy and advanced orthopaedic surgical interventions. He has tutored emerging veterinarians up to the postgraduate level as a Professor of Veterinary Surgical Clinics and Surgical Techniques. His next-generation research on bone replacement techniques, reparative bone surgeries and rehabilitation, and a nationally acclaimed handbook he published on veterinary orthopaedics make him a sought-after authority, consultant and referral doctor with an impressive surgery success rate.
Dr. Romano’s noteworthy contributions to advancing the frontiers of veterinary practice are driven by his commitment to ensuring that pets have the best quality of care and life, especially after an incident. Being a paw-dad to two dogs, Paco (a golden retriever) and Stair (a rescue dog), Dr. Romano understands that pets are cherished family members and goes the extra mile to support families throughout the diagnosis, treatment and recovery process. His remarkable warmth shines through every consultation and interaction with his patients and their families, reassuring them during difficult times.
When he is not in scrubs working at helping pets get back on their paws, Dr. Romano is at the gym defending his 4th-degree black belt in Jiu-Jitsu while listening to some rock and roll.
We are honoured to have this treasured ortho and neuro vet on our team and you can rest easy knowing that your furry friend is in good hands and on their way and leading a happy, healthy life.
