The sugar glider is a small, omnivorous, arboreal, and nocturnal gliding possum – a type of marsupial. The common name refers to its preference for sugary nectarous foods and ability to glide through the air, like a flying squirrel. They are most entertaining as they happily perform canopy acrobatics, and are far more sophisticated than human acrobats! Gliding serves as an efficient means of both locating food and evading predators. Of late sugar gliders have become popular pets in Qatar, and we have seen quite a number at CVH.
